Melting

The ice is melting away
Dripping through my veins
Time heals all wounds

Life goes on with or without me
Days tend to disappear
Time wipes the tears

Smiles happen involuntarily
Chuckles bubble to the surface
Time lessens regrets

  1. Time can dull even the sharpest hurt. A lot of time, in many cases.

  2. It's the truth, isn't it? Time lessens the hurts and pains of life. I once thought that if enough time went by, I could get used to anything. Now I realize that time's passage may look linear, but it can speed by or drag on. I like your poetry, CiCi.

  4. "Smiles happen involuntarily".......I think that line describes the time when we can know the healing has begun.

  5. I feel as if the ice on my heart started unfrozen and the ice has been working to freeze it.

  6. I'm not quite sure if it's time healing the wounds... or my lousy, fading memory! Either way, it works.

    Hugs!

  15. Time is a great healer. I know it's corny but it's true. It's when you begin to smile again that you know you are healing and growing.
