As busy as I am each day, I manage to work on the jigsaw puzzles. I have completed three recently and finished another one last night.
Most of the puzzles are hand-me-downs from friends; some are found at garage sales; some I buy on an online garage sale site in this area. So some of the puzzles are missing a piece. Or two. Never more than two.
But I find I enjoy the challenge of working something to a conclusion, to find there was a missing piece.
Another challenge in life. Working things through, completing a task, or a trial, to have it revealed that something was not there, not done as expected, testing my abilities a smidgeon more.
My Mom LOVED jigsaw puzzles!
ReplyDeleteMy memory is full of missing pieces and I hate that. Talk about testing your abilities, that'll do it.
Even with missing pieces, we can still see the big picture. I would enjoy a jigsaw puzzle, my mother and I worked on many when I was growing up.
ReplyDeleteI always have at least one jigsaw puzzle on the go. I love doing them, and often buy second hand ones from eBay, but I hate it when any pieces are missing!
ReplyDeleteI have never worked jigsaw puzzles, but my aunt was always working at least one. You would really have liked her, CiCi. You are two peas in a pod, about puzzles that is.
ReplyDeleteI haven't worked a jigsaw puzzle in years but I loved working them with my aunt when I was a kid. I'm thinking that if I had one to work on now I wouldn't get anything else done until the puzzle was done, but I might think about giving one a try. I'm not sure how I would feel if I got to the end and there were pieces missing.
ReplyDeleteI love jigsaw puzzles too! Even if one piece is missing from a 1000-piece puzzle, it's so unsatisfying.
ReplyDeleteThat brings back memories. When I was a kid, we used to vacation at the Jersey shore every summer. My Mom always set up a card table with a giant jigsaw puzzle. It was always so sad to take them apart cause it meant summer was over...
ReplyDeleteYou've managed to find inexpensive therapy. Good for you. Maybe I should try puzzles.
ReplyDeleteIt's at this time of year that I tend to work on jigsaw puzzles. I love them! (But not the missing pieces)
ReplyDeleteWe used to do a lot of puzzles, but not any more. Too many memories, I guess.
ReplyDeleteLove you and your insights.
ReplyDeletecole absolutely loves doing puzzles....we did one last night....probably a whole lot more simple than yours but....ha....puzzles keep you sharp as well...
