Happy Fourth of July
This flag symbolizes freedom for Americans. The hatred people spew over which political party is the best cannot detract from the one thing we all share: Freedom. We are glad to live where there is freedom, but there are some who would take it away to have their own agenda. I can only speak for myself, and I am grateful to live in the USA where we all have choices and ability to make decisions without stifling other people's rights for the same freedom. Whether or not we vote the same way, we share the same space and make the best of what we do have. I hope I don't live long enough to see that change. This is a special day in our country. Much more than watching fireworks. May the spark of pride in what our country stands for be reignited in each of our hearts so we may preserve the valuable principles this country was built upon.
i hope you have a great fourth... we are travelling this afternoon to be with my fam...though i am thinking the hurricane might drench out our festivities...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on escaping the greasy paws of the British. Sadly I don't think I can escape... :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth, CiCi.
ReplyDeleteI love your words and took time to read them twice. Have a very Happy Fourth of July.
ReplyDeleteAmen, CiCi. I wish you and yours a very happy Fourth! Also sending you hugs just for being YOU. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have memories of a wonderful 4th July in North Queensland, where every year they celebrate the opening of a bus shelter on that date many years ago with a huge party and fireworks display. That's what I love about being Australian! Hope you have a great Independence Day.
ReplyDeleteBehold the star of pride.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, CiCi!
Well said and so true. Happy Independence Day to you.

ReplyDeleteI agree, even though I can be a political person I try to refrain from third grade-level remarks like calling a president or politician I don't like a dictator/king/tyrant or something of the sort.
I've know how politics work outside of USA/Canada/Western and Nordic Europe/Japan and those presidents/prime ministers make our worst politicians look like saints.
Very well said, CiCi! Happy Independence Day to you!
