Hahaha! That's what people think around here when it snows. They don't know WHAT TO DO... nor do they know how to drive in it. On the rare occasion it does actually snow, everything pretty much stops while we marvel at it.
Life just continues on I guess. The only time it bothers me is when it seems like we have had it for months. I tend to really want the green grass and flowers......oh and driving in a white out, that can be brutal even as a passenger. have a great week.
That is just TOO funny. I was walking Sunday and suddenly I was overtaken by a quick snowstorm. I was white by the time I walked in my front door, but then it was over as quickly as it had begun. I love snow.
Hilarious!!!! Love it! I remember when I lived in NJ if there were a few little sprinkles of snow EVERYONE dashed to the grocery store to stock up as though disaster was imminent.
We are .3" away from surpassing the 4th snowiest winter ever in Anchorage recorded weather history. I think we can do it. Last night on the news there was a report on all the auto body shops in town which are swamped with repair work due to the overly snowy/icy roads this year. Thank goodness March is around the corner. We are not out of the woods so to speak with regard to snowfall until the end of April.
Great picture. Friends who live in Southern CA tell funny stories about how people behave in their town when it rains. They moved from northern NJ so they compare it to the ice storms/snow from the northeast.
Ha! That's what I think every ime I drive in snow. Even though I grew up in it and drove countless miles in it, I've been gone so long that the idea of getting behind the wheel again with snow scares me. It's this time of year that I love Southern California. xo jj
It's funny because that's how it is down here on the rare occasion we get it. I always just want to go out and do whatever, but I'm told that's not what I should do because the other drivers don't have a clue and they could be my undoing.
That DOES seem to be the general attitude whenever it snows, in spite of the fact that it's expected around here. Maybe we just get so bored during the winter that we have to get dramatic about the weather.
Funny! I loved driving in the snow when I lived in Chicago. I always loved the challenge of it. Now moving to Southern California was a blessing for me because I never had to worry about my children driving in the snow! (or teach them)
Anything can get old. I can imagine that days and days of snow without a break would make you wish for pleasant days. Here the snow is not a bother but I don't leave town much so it is easy to get around in the little town.
See, there are good things brought about other things. I am glad the auto body shops in your town are getting lots of business right now. I hope you let us know if Anchorage surpassed the record.
People are transient, and when some people land in an area that gets snow, they may not know how to drive in it. The snow doesn't keep me from going where I want to go.

Ha! We have so much snow, our signs just read, "Meh."

It is nice for me to live in an area that has nice people and they are prepared for all kinds of weather. Even the seniors are good drivers.

Glad you got a chuckle, Hilary.
As long as I am dressed properly, I don't mind snow either. I can walk around town as long as it is not icy.

Yes, that is something that happens in all towns, weather reports rule the supermarket runs.
So often I stop and remind myself how much I like this little hippie house and feel safe and cozy here.
Oh yes, I remember the drivers on the busy freeways in CA when the slick roads got wet with rain. To me, that is more dangerous than the snow here.
If you lived in snow area again it wouldn't take long to get adjusted to driving in snow. I am really comfortable in snow now.
If I could, I would send huge boxes of snow to you.

You are funny. You should make a sign and put in front of a snow drift in your yard.
It took some getting used to living in an area where the weather year round is a popular subject. In southern CA it was almost always the same.
I didn't know you lived in Chicago. Do you miss it at all?
I felt almost like that while I was slipping and sliding back from Big Bear a few days ago when I got caught in a snow shower! Still love it though...
Did you have to stop and put on tire chains? No one uses chains here. But we are on flat land. Glad your drive in the snow was safe.
That is an amazing notice. It just would never happen here.
