There Should Be

This post is written by a woman, so it is slanted in favor of the female sex.  Deal with it.

Some things that Should Be:

There should be baby changing tables in all men's rest rooms. Some men are single fathers, some men share in all the baby changing and some men should learn how to take care of the child they fathered.

There should be one time all year with no changing back and forth a couple times a year. No more spring forward and fall back.

There should be ad campaigns extolling the virtues of all women, all sizes, all types of looks, promoting their beauty and teaching them to feel good about themselves just as they are. Being battered constantly about the need to look better, look different, teaches women to believe they are never good enough, they are taught in TV ads, magazines, billboards, certain looks are beautiful. What a shame.

There should be a Bring Your Wife To Work Day one day a year like the one to bring your kid. Just see how different men act around the co-workers with the wife at work.

There should be party lines available again for people who want to listen in on other people's conversations and get the straight scoop to pass along to their friends instead of searching and questioning trying to find some good gossip. Oh, there is something like that on a large scale, it is called the news. What used to be unbiased, basic news has become the trendy reality show called the news.
Depending on who owns the network the so-called news will be based on the owners' views.

You are so right, CiCi! I agree with every single one of these things, especially women feeling good about themselves at every stage of life.

Made it home without incident, and I will miss the sun but appreciate my own home! :-)

I like you way of thinking. I would especially love to see no time change. Take your wife to work day would probably take a while to catch on. :)

Your post was just read by a man so deal with it.
I agree with most all of it. The bring you wife to work - that's just silly and many spouses work at the same company (big problem with lay-offs). I also don't care much for the way news is handled which one reason to keep the tree-related paper and watch PBS newshour. I completely agree with #1 #2 #3. I have changed many poopy diapers but I still don't like it.

I thought Facebook was the new gossip hotline. I really don't like Facebook and haven't updated my page in ages.

I must say I very seldom go into a public restroom that does NOT have a diaper changing station but I've yet to see a father changing a diaper.

Fun post.

I have recently been in two different women's restrooms that did nOT have a changing station. Made me wonder about that. One being a Target of all places.

As for the news. don't get me started. It's all about weather and celebrities.

Bring You Wife To Work Day-- I like that! Years ago I worked in a male dominated field and they were mostly not cool around other women when they were at work. I would LOVE to have this day.

Changing tables in Men's Room-- Yes please!

Have a happy week, CiCi.

Great idea! You would think by this year, things would be different. Not yet - maybe soon!

I see family rooms occasionally.. that's a start I guess. Your party line suggestion made me laugh. I vaguely remember party lines.. and picking up to hear an ongoing conversation. Fun times.

I agree with all of it.... and how about a Take Your MOTHER to Work day? I'd love that!

There AREN'T changing stations in men's rooms?!

I think stay-at-home-moms should get a take your man to work day. Let them know how much work it is!

It surprises me that we still have beauty pageants. So stupid.

Oh my how funny. We know very well things will be different for women. That is just how it is.
