Folding Sheets

My folded sheets don't take up this much room actually, since my queen size sheets are smashed down more than this. For so many years I spent lots of time getting corners matched and flat. Now I don't want to spend a moment longer than necessary to do something as mundane as this. Heck, at least I wash sheets every week. Pillow cases get changed during the week because I like planting my face in the pillow and breathing in the fresh smell of the pillow case.

There, I shared one of my deep secrets with you. Now you share one of yours with me!

Fair enough. Okay, also bedding-related.

I like four pillows on my bed but I always sleep on the same two pillows so the other set of pillow cases never really get used. I will only wash that unused pair of pillow cases about every second or third bedding change. Is that bad?

I used to be a freak about getting the sheets perfectly folded. Not nearly as freaky about it in my old age. I'm just glad when I find enough energy to change them, to heck with folding, I just put them right back on the bed.

Okay, here's a dark secret: as a guy I seldom notice that my wife has changed the sheets on the bed. She washes them every week. I think women notice these things more than men. We'd sleep in filth if left alone too long.

Mine are a total pile of puffy wrinkles, and I don't even care a bit. Of all the things I care about... that's not one.

My nighty gets pretty well used before I will wash it. Feels weird when it's clean: like it's not quite mine until I've worn it. That's my secret! :-)

I always hate putting it back on the bed. There's one corner that gives a lot of trouble.

I am also not picky about folding my sheets. I never could figure out how to nicely fold those fitted sheets, especially since the invention of the deep pocket version!

My bath towels, on the other hand... everyone in my family has been instructed of the proper way to fold the towels. And they MUST be put away in matching pairs. That seems like common sense to me, but my husband needs constant reminding to match up the sets.

I'm so grateful for the internet to show me I'm not the only one who folds sheets that "wrong" way!

A secret of mine? I don't sort my laundry. Other than "dirty" and "clean".

Over the years I have learned to fold sheets - except the ones with the gathered corners, which I screw up into a ball...

I, like Ms. A can't be bothered with folding, so I put freshly laundered sheets back on the bed. That's not the worst of it .. my deep dark secret is that I so dislike laundering towels and underwear that I'll go buy more to tide me over until I can get around to laundering what I have.
