How many of you wore these shoes to school, well, not THESE shoes, but shoes like these.
I did. The only time I wore good shoes was during school term, in California, shoes that went well with the uniforms of the Catholic schools I attended. The rest of the year I was bare foot or flip flops. I prefer to be bare footed still.
I wonder how much of the child is still "me".

oh i imagine they were stiff...i would take bare feet any day
I only saw shoes like these on American TV shows...
Our drill team wore those with our off the field outfits.
Oh I did. I loved saddle shoes.. there were the rounded toes and later the pointy toe. And eventually they came out with different colours. I think it's time they made a comeback.
Hmmm.. I've just googled them and they are still (or again) available. Who knew? :)
Never had shoes like that in England. We had Clark's sandals instead.
Nope, never wore them, at least not so as I'd admit to.
Oh yes, I wore saddle shoes... but only because I was a cheerleader and we had to. Otherwise, I'd wear anything but!
That was a real memory flashback for me :-)

In Texas they were black suede penny loafers with socks just like these. And skirts! I can't imagine it today. Great oxfords, wish they had been in style in my school. :-)
I never wore them, but I dug the way they looked on others. I, too, am a flip flop, bare feet, or tennis shoe kinda girl.
Saddle shoes! Yeah, I wore them. The tan and blue kind with red soles. I remember having to polish them with saddle soap. Formative years.
I wore a black and white pair when I was maybe six years old or so. Then later, when I attended a Catholic high school, I had to wear an ugly gray pair as part of my school uniform. Hated them!
I'm with you. I'll be barefoot whenever I have the chance!
I remember seeing saddle shoes, but had a pair. They don't look very comfortable. I'm with you - flip flops, bare feet, sneakers, or this time of year, a nice pair of warm, cozy socks around the house.
