I've heard of such things happening and they no doubt did, but heartwarming incidents like this were few and far between. Still, a nice image of humanity at its best, even in time of war.

A tearjerker for sure. If you click on the story behind the ad, it's every bit as touching, if not more so.

Lovely, Cici, reminding me there is much love even in war time. :-)

Ms A, afterall, the men and women in the trenches are not the ones who decided to war.

Stephen, "wise" people say war is necessary, but I'm not that wise.

Hilary, thanks for the link. You rock.

DJan, love of humanity and down to earth caring.

Beautiful commercial - and it did bring me to tears. I remember reading about how the fighting stopped on Christmas. Nice to imagine it actually happened the way it was shown here.

Kleenex definitely necessary!

So glad work is progressing and you are happy in your little white house. Having the cement driveway will make your winter much easier-- so will those winter coats :-)

But hopefully... winter will take a giant step back and things will warm up again for a bit.

Why cannot religion create more peace than war?

terri, I still do not understand necessity of war. We are taught to work things out from childhood on.

Joanna, winter has arrived here in NE and adjustments are made.

Tabor, I ask that question and have for many years.
To my way of thinking, religion should be uniting people, instead of dividing.
