Pot of Gold
Rainbows
Leprechauns
Four leaf clover
Corned beef and cabbage
Irish soda bread
Shepherd's pie (one of my favorites)
And oh yeah, BEER (which I can't drink)
It doesn't take much to get people in the party mode. A little nod to St Patrick and the party is in full swing. I am not Irish but I do like the green, the food, and all the decorations. Since I decorate the senior center each month in a different theme, it was fun taking down all the red and pink for Valentines Day and switching out to the green, green, and more green.
However you spend St Patrick's Day, I hope you enjoy the jolly little leprechauns and end up with a pot of gold at the end of an awesome rainbow.

I could use a pot of gold, which will never happen. I'd settle for a rainbow.
Happy St. Patty's Day!
ooo shepherds pie is one of my all time fav comfort foods....but def wear green....to avoid the pinches....smiles...
It will just be a normal day for me, but be sure I'll be wearing my green! :-)
Ms A, It would be nice if we each had an endless supply of gold but alas, only in our dreams.
Brian, Shepherd's Pie was a fave of my kids so when I make it my heart misses them.
DJan, good to wear green just in case the Pincher Person is around.
It is fun that everyone becomes a little bit Irish on St. Patrick's Day. Maybe it is the lure of that pot of gold....or the green beer.
I'm not Irish and don't do much celebrating on St. Patrick's Day, but the hubby and I will sometimes make Reuben sandwiches in honor of the day. Maybe I should find a recipe for Shepherds pie and give that one a try.
Jeanie, that is a good way to describe it; we all become a little bit Irish on St Patrick's Day. I am not Irish but I do get into the spirit of the celebration.
Terri, I hope you do try Shepherd's Pie. There are of course several variations. Let me know how you like it.
I do make a point of wearing green on the 17th. It goes back to my Montreal days when we always celebrated with a parade and pub time!
My late father-in-law told a hysterical Irish joke made even more funny by his ability to channel a perfect Irish accent. He was very Irish at heart.
I wonder if I'll forget to wear green tommorow
Hilary, I even have St Patrick's knee high socks I am wearing today. Of course they are under my slacks.
