Easter

Yo! How ya doin'?
You still believe the Easter Bunny lays eggs?

Pshaw. He doesn't lay eggs, he borrows them.

From the laying hens. He is actually an artist at heart.

He likes to decorate eggs, and then he hops around yards leaving his creations in the grass, in crevices, in hollow trunks.

Well, now you know.

Enjoy your artsy bunny eggs.

I wonder where the whole Easter bunny tradition came from. I guess I could find out online, but it's curious, isn't it? Poor kids who think bunnies lay eggs... :-)

Now I know, and I thank you for the information.

Ms.A, same to you, hope your Easter is awesome.

DJan, supposedly, rabbits were considered sacred because they are so fertile so the holiday celebrated in spring used eggs for the symbol of rebirth. The Easter bunny tradition began in Germany. Some people have been able to connect the idea of a bunny with eggs to an innocent like a lamb.

Jeanie, you are so welcome. People may have good intentions in trying to make a holiday more popular and that causes them to veer far from the real reason in the first place.

Well, thank you for that very useful information!

No bunny coming to our house, this year, however. I'm trying to drop a pound or 20 and I've threatened Jack within an inch of his life if he allows that bunny in with a basket of goodies.

I've always wondered where he got his eggs! What a smart bunny.

Rabbits don't lay colored eggs? No wonder I failed my college zoology class!

Last time I tie dyed mine.
This year, no eggs...& no regrets either.

Happy Easter CiCi. The whole bunnies and eggs tradition of Easter comes from the pagan celebration for spring and fertility. They chose good symbols I'd say!
