Tracks We Leave Behind

These are tractor tracks in a field near where I live. Farmers and tractors are an everyday sight here.

On a walk I felt led to take a photo of the tracks. I related my life to the tracks. These tracks will be gone soon. Planted over, crops reaped, land rotated and so it goes.

As I plowed through life, have I left any permanent tracks? Have you?

I've left plenty of tracks in my life. My daughter has promised me she will cover them when I'm gone.

We leave all sorts of tracks.

Some will be forgotten and become overgrown, some will be trampled by others, our own contribution forgotten, but hopefully, here and there, something will remain to show our passing, if only in the hearts and minds of those who know and love us.

Wow, that sounds very deep for a Tuesday morning!

I wonder if leaving tracks through life even matter. If I enjoy making them, isn't it enough? Eventually all tracks disappear, given enough time. :-)

I like that you know you have left lots of tracks in your life. I admire your exacting a promise from your daughter to cover them for you after you have gone. Very interesting viewpoint.

RC, indeed we leave all sorts of tracks.I am no longer carrying around guilt over the messy tracks I made. I did after all learn much from them.I do like your thought of something of us remaining in the hearts of those who know us and love us anyway.

DJan, what an interesting perspective on this topic. Why didn't I think of it? Thanks for the input.

I hope I've left some lasting tracks, but then there are others I'd rather not mention! I think we all make lasting "ripples" in some form.

Sometimes when I see fossils from ancient times, I wonder if anything will be left from today in the distant future. Did that bug that fell in the tar pits know it would be a museum display some day?

I don't know how permanent, but I kind of like how we leave a part of our thoughts and interests with our blogging tracks. And I like DJan's take on whether it even matters. It's so true. Lovely thought-provoking post today, CiCi.

I'm still trying to leave tracks. I like your metaphor for life and I know I'll be thinking about it all day.

We all have an impact. Certainly parents leave tracks but so do non-parents. Blog tracks are out there. I don't know if my tracks lead you anywhere but it's the journey that's important.

My kids are my permanent tracks, I'm thinking and that makes me smile!

It would be good to know we'd left some permanent tracks, wouldn't it?
I loved that post.

Great visual metaphor! All traces of our having walked here will eventually disappear without trace. Well, for the majority of us, anyway. As long as my here and now tracks aren't going in circles and I'm enjoying making them, I'm happy.

Interesting thought to ponder.

LOVE tractor tracks. I grew up on a farm where my dad left lots of them. I would walk in them, following their path.

I am most sure you have left many permanent tracks in the hearts of others sweet lady!!!

The earth looks so grey in those pics in comparison to our soil.

We're in the middle of preparin' the ground for crops...loads of tracks 'round here. Heeehehehehe!

Have yourself a perfectly blessed day sweetie!!! :o)

Yes you have. You have had a family so there's a path that goes on.
The images and the way you chose to apply ten is really creative.
