We Went To The Races

The next town is even smaller than the town I am living in now. There was a celebration in the smaller town today, the town was celebrating its 125th birthday.

One of the activities was a racetrack for lawn mower races.

Lots of people turned out to watch this unusual sport.

Here are a few pictures.

Oh cool I have a sit on lawn mower but I've never been in a race, well only against time before it rains.

I think it's great the way small communities find ways to come together to celebrate their history.

That's awesome! Looks like quite a good sized crowd turned out. I love it when people make their own fun. You have to use your imagination a bit and be open-minded, but depending on big budget entertainments makes people so jaded...

Ha! This is great! Maybe they'll eventually get some big sponsors :)

Joey, I have never driven a riding lawn mower, but watching the races was so fun I would like to be in the races!

Ms A, I didn't even know there was such a thing as mower racing.

Stephen, yes, it is warm and friendly the way the small towns are enthusiastic about the simpler things and make things so fun.

Stickup Artist, I didn't really show the crowds all around the track. People came from all areas.

Abby, they announced they want more women in their organization. Hmmm.

Lawn mower races! Glad you had fun!

DJan, one race was stock mowers but all the rest were hopped up mowers. They went pretty fast!

Ina, it was so much fun.

Men and their toys! Well, I guess I'm assuming the racers were all men. Maybe there were some women too!
