"Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one. "

Not Afraid Of Storms

Wise words in a quote by one of my life long favorite authors. I have my copy of Little Women from when I was young, pages brittle, broken spine, I handle with care and won't let go of this book.

These days I'm not afraid of much and look forward to challenges in 2014. How I handle the unpleasant events tells me how I am doing in my personal growth. I am constantly learning, a perpetual student with no end of sight of learning to be a good sailer.

I haven't always been afraid of the storms, but the older I get, the more fragile I feel life is and that makes me much more afraid than I used to be.

we are always learning...for sure....and the rough times, they do create a benchmark to see how you are doing up to then....but i hope the new year is one that is full of love and wonder for you

If you wanted to, you know you could. You seem to be able to do whatever you put your mind to, CiCi! :-)

I have felt really emotionally negative lately. This is prompted, I'm sure, by some recent family issues and compounded by my tendency to suffer a bit of the blues this time of year. The quote you posted here really struck a chord with me today. It makes me feel so much better about the big and little challenges I face each day. Thanks for the reminder that every storm brings a valuable learning experience. I'm going to try to remember this going forward instead of sinking into all the negativity.

Brave. It's a word I'm often coming back to as I really want to be brave. When things get rough, though, I try to remember all those other rough times and how God has cared for me and gotten me through those. We have a saying in our family, God has gotten us this far, He's not going to let us down now.

It's the voyage that counts, not the destination. Right?

Oh my, what a coincidence, both our most recent posts have to do with ships and sailing!!

It's funny, with so many moves (I've done quite a bit of moving around myself), the items that survive and stay with you thru the years.

I think one of the biggest fears to conquer is the fear of change. It's wonderful how you seem to embrace it.

(I like Stephen Hayes comment up there).

I think it's good to push the limits of our comfort zones. Regularly. Happy New Year, CiCi!
