My friend's husband

There is now a rod across the wall in the little enclosed back porch. My winter coats are now hanging on the rod. Have to find ways to use space wisely in a small place. This is the kind of thing I like to do.

My friend's husband brought over the large dowel, his saw and installed the rod. Took him about twenty minutes.

you do have to get creative in a small space, but it is doable...have you see the one room apartments...now some of them are def creative...

How nice! A friend is a wonderful thing, especially one with handy husband. :-)

Ms A, yes indeed.

Brian, I read and watch videos about tiny homes. I have always had interest in using space wisely.

DJan, there are a couple friends who want their husbands to help with jobs. Pretty cool friends.

I think that friends husbands are good like that - similar to grandchildren, you can give them back when you have finished with them :-)

I'd love to hang my coat on that new rod, and have a cup of coffee with you.

Necessity is the mother of invention. I find that to be very true. I live in a small house, too and am forever trying to think of ways to better use space.

I'm glad you have such great, handy friends. There are lots of online sites which have very creative ways to deal with small spaces. Sounds like you're off to a good start.

That's great you have a good, reliable handy friend! I moved into an older house and it took me 3 months to find a handyman that didn't charge outrageous prices for small jobs around the house.

Sounds like you're having great fun adapting to your new place! And hooray for other people's husbands! :)

RC, I like your comparison, and yes it is great to give them back.

Stephen, that would be great.

Pauline, you and I have much in common, living across the world from each other.

Hilary, finding ways to maximize every nook and cranny is rewarding and fun for me.

Stickup Artist, it is so different from where you live. Remember, I grew up there.

ShadowRun, I am indeed enjoying living in this little house in this little town.

Isn't it fun making a new place your own?
Your friend's husband reminds me of a cartoon I saw years ago. A woman went to her friend's house asking, "Can I borrow your man?"

CiCi said...

Yes it is fun making this little house my own. I like your borrow man joke. It works for me. My friends are very sweet.

Great idea! And it was obviously a simple job.

My husband is the man who some of the neighbor women "borrow." He's pretty handy and if he can't do something himself, he knows who to go to. But most things, he knows how to do.

I am often loaning my husband out for certain tasks. I don't mind sharing in that way!

As for small houses, yes, one must be creative. A lot of my things serve more than one purpose.

Ah, how great is the special moment of sharing and loving!

I like it.
