"Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one. "

Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

When I was a little girl,
I wrote to you every year.
It didn't seem to matter
If you were far or near.

You missed my house
But the fault was not yours.
Trying to find us each year
kept you knocking on doors.

We moved to new places
Practically every year.
My brother and I holding
back sadness and tears.

It was such a relief to learn
you are not even real.
Why were we taught to
make you such a big deal.

Bah Humbug. Ha.

You always know how to make me laugh and appreciate the season, even this stressful one. Glad you're part of my life, CiCi! Merry Christmas! :-)

DJan, Glad you got a chuckle out of my little attempt at writing a poem. I appreciate the years of knowing you as a blogging buddy.

Santa isn't real? Now that you own your own place, I'm sure he will find you! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Your poem makes me thankful that my Christmases as a young person were pretty much a joy. Only in my later years have they become bah humbug. I do still look forward to spending time with my family, even if I don't feel like I can meet with their expectations.

Merry Christmas, Cici!

We don't have any children in our lives right now so sometimes it's hard getting into the Christmas spirit, until I start pouring the Christmas spirits.

Thanks for the laugh and the reminder to appreciate my blessings back when and now. If I'm not around in the next few days, warm Christmas Greetings to you.

Stickup Artist, my dear gal, I can picture you still believing in Santa, one of the things I like about you is your forever young and sweet "you".

Ms A, I still hope for you to discard the expectations, and feel the relief when you do.

Stephen, sometimes childlike awe can be a blessing in difficult times, even at my age which is much older than you.

Pauline, enjoy your holiday with family. I will be in Arizona when you get back and we will catch up later in January.

Lawrence, oh, thank you for the wonderful encouragement. My little ditty is so small compared to your awesome writing. Hope you have a holiday season that inspires you to write about experiences.
