"Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one. "

My Heart's Desire

"Theirs is the stoneless fruit of love
Whose love is returned."

--------Tiruvalluvar, The Kural (one of the most important forms of classical Tamil poetry)

I desire stoneless fruit. Not the kind in the the bowl.

Do you?

I believe we all do and if it comes to our life we are fortunate indeed.

I don't quite understand it CiCi. The poem and the stoneless fruit..is it good?

Yesterday i went to the store and bought a couple of guavas. Yes, with hundreds of tiny seed inside them. I cannot understand why most people cut that part off because i ate them whole.
Yummy.

I'm not familiar with this poet but getting love returned is essential.

I'd have to do some research to understand this.

It is something that everyone should have.

It would seem to me that fruit that does not have a stone is of a different sort. Reciprocity of love is the best kind. Thoughtful poem.

Hi Jeanie, yes indeed. Love returned is a blessing.

CiCi said...

oceangirl, you understand, you just don't think you have it in your life right now. You and I are each yearning to love and be loved in return.

Shadowthorne, I confess to scooping out the tiny seeds in guavas even though they are soft seeds. I don't see guavas in this little town or the next town either. You are fortunate to have the delicious fruit available.

Bill, loving someone and not being loved back is unhealthy. I like that you use the word "essential" regarding mutual love.

CiCi said...

Ms.A, let me know your results after you complete your research.

Rock Chef, if we all knew love in that we loved someone and knew we were loved in return, would people stop being unfaithful? Would they be satisfied with what they were blessed with?

Hi DJan, fruit with no stone sounds luscious to me. But as in most things in life, we do find something hard to get around sometimes but we can do it. For me, being open to loving is in itself a blessing. I will see what I say ten years from now.

Love isn't satisfying unless it's returned.

Hi Liz, good point. One sided love is in a rut. I am finding that the subject of love is impossible to define or narrow down to a basic definition that is one size fits all.

Stones in fruit. Well that would be.. the pits. ;)

I can't find the meaning. You lost me. Funny thing though is that in my search I was brought to a blog that had you in its sidebar with the quote!!!

Hi Abby, thank you for the good wishes.

CiCi said...

Hilary, you are so witty. I like your sense of humor. I don't want the pits any more. Just the sweet fruit and maybe some day I will find a kind and gentle life.

Terri, you have a lovely husband and family, and I admire how you are with them all. I am happy that you can reap the rewards of your loving heart toward your family and friends.

CiCi said...

Debby, if we have a love that is returned we are blessed. Real love and not the one in the movies or the romantic one in books. Funny that you found my blog in the sidebar of the other blog. Lots of us are connected aren't we?

CiCi said...

Maggie, yes it is and I too hope some day I find it. Thanks for your encouragement.
