Impromptu Cinco de Mayo

Yesterday afternoon I washed clothes and cleaned some after getting up early to get groceries and run errands. When I walked in the door in the late afternoon, there was a message from a friend that a few gals were going to get together to play dominoes. We had not played together and were going to play something new to each of us but one. So we each brought something to eat, shared with the group and six women played Mexican Train dominoes for three hours. Such laughter and giggling and fun! I didn't think about my sore back or weary body at all and slept like a log.

How was your Cinco de Mayo?

Do any of you play Mexican Train or any other domino game?

Thunderstorms all night did not wake me and I only woke in time to get ready to go to huge garage sale at the city auditorium this morning to benefit the high school band.

Enjoy your Sunday, I know I will.

Cinco de Mayo is our anniversary, so we celebrated together over breakfast. I didn't play any games but had a good day with my new toy, a brand new MacBook Air! :-)

My daughter's used to play Mexican Train game all the time. I don't play games really but my family are all into them, and often if we have a dinner party my partner will get out some sort of game like Pass the Bomb to play. That's my signal to go and make the coffee! :D

I've never played that Domino game, but it sounds like a fun time with friends. My Cinco de Mayo was filled with kid's soccer and baseball games and a dance recital....all fun, and now I have to do my chores today.

I haven't played Dominoes since middle school. We actually played them in a class called "strategic thinking" where we played advanced board games all day.

Sounds like a great, if impromptu, Cinco de Mayo! And I don't even know what Mexican Train is!

My holiday was very quiet, a few tacos from Taco Bell, but I'm glad you had fun.

Hubby went to a ball game and I sat on my fat butt. All was good... except for the fat butt, which is NOT good.

I played Mexican Train once, years ago at my in-laws' cabin. A bunch of family members played together and I remember having such fun. I haven't played since, and don't remember the game, but I have a nice set of dominoes here somewhere - a gift from the sister-in-law who introduced us to the game. I remember that she included instructions for Mexican Train. Thanks for the reminder. I'm going to find my dominoes. We occasionally have game nights with friends and I want to share this game with our friends.

I'm glad to hear you had such a good time!

I don't know what a cinco de mayo is but thunderstorms at night wake me up and loneliness prevails.

I've only ever played dominoes just by stacking them up in chains! I need to discover this Mexican Train game though.

I have not played that one yet. Sounds interesting. I enjoy card games after a family get-together.
