Today is also my oldest daughter's birthday. Like you, I am very proud of the woman she is.
If I had to pick a gender to have a child, I'd choose a boy. Not over some kind of "I want him to be a sports star" macho thing, but I'd be afraid to have a daughter that grows up. So many women have been hurt by members of my gender.

we def need strong parents and communities that will teach our children these things...and our boys need to learn it just as much...
