Two Months To Go

This past summer my son asked me to come visit him and his wife over Thanksgiving. I said yes. Then I talked with my close friend and she asked her husband if he would mind if she went with me, so we talked with my son and said I would be there for his birthday in January. This is a busy time of year around here, the last two months of the year are full of activities and get togethers and projects for me and my friends.

So, in two months my friend and I will be traveling to Honolulu for a visit with my son and daughter-in-law. I have been there a couple times but my friend has never been there and it has been at the top of her bucket list for forty years.

I haven't seen my son in person in 5 years. This is going to be great!

A visit with a son you haven't seen in 5 years (I can't allow myself to imagine not seeing mine for that long) and in Honolulu to boot. That sounds doubly exciting!

My son is the one who reminds me that it has been five years since we have seen each other in person. It has been longer than that since I was with him on his birthday. He would like me to live there but I have found the place that is right for me.

Sounds like a fun two months. I haven't been to Hawaii either but it's not on my bucket list, so I'll probably not get there any time soon. I've got some blog friends I could visit, though. :-)

Well how cool is this!? A long needed visit with the son and family plus a memorable trip with a friend! It sounds fun just to plan it!

I once spent Thanksgiving in Honolulu and it was great. Pupu platters are so much better than turkey.

I think it's less than two months if it's January that you travel! Glad that you found a compromise to a time for a visit!

I can`t imagine not seeing either of my sons for 5 years..... both live quite close to me, and I`m always available for babysitting! You`ll have a wonderful time. I wish I was your friend, I`ve never been to Honolulu!!

I'm so excited for you! I can't imagine how hard it must be to be so far away from your son. And now you get to see him in person in such a beautiful place. You're going to have a great time, I know!

Nice to hear your plan. Being without seeing son for 5 years is a very tough time.

Happy thanks giving with your son and daughter-in-law.
