I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one. "

What A Mess

Christmas day.
Trash can full.
Removed the plastic bag.
Tied it shut at the top.
Carried it to the door.
The bottom broke apart.
Trash flew everywhere.
Like an explosion.
Coffee grounds.
Orange peels.
Empty cans.
Etc etc.
I stood looking.
What a mess.
I thought,
how can I clean this.
This was a first.
Never had this happen.
Felt like I was in a cartoon.
I trudged through the mess.
Got to the kitchen closet.
Reached for the dust pan.
Began scooping trash
into three new trash bags.
That was when my friend arrived.
She found me on the floor
tying the three bags.
She helped me carry the bags
out to the trash can.
We sat at the kitchen table
laughing and merry
Perfect Christmas visit.

Only your cheery attitude could bring a trash bag mess to such a merry conclusion.

Isn't there a saying about a true friend and helping you move things in trash bags?
Good story.

You have a much better attitude than I do! I wouldn't have been able to laugh about that, for at least a month. LOL!

I'm sure you weren't the first person to get "trashed" for Christmas. ;)

It's happened to me before, too. But I don't think I remember having merry thoughts afterwards! But I'm glad it all turned out just fine... :-)

Trash is always such an important part of the holidays. Mrs. C. and I always fight over whether or not we should keep or throw out the bows. She says we'll we use them next year but we neeeeever do! Happy Holidays.
